Slept in until 7am!! Must be getting use to sleeping on the ground!! Also now in Mountain Time, so one hour closer to the UK (seven hours ahead now)
Was on the road by 8am and continued on Highway 12. It was chilly, which was a good job as I had the heater on to continue drying my damp documents and books.
Stopped for breakfast at Lolo Hotsprings just beyond Lolo Pass, where they had internet access!! But still no phone reception. Knew that the women in my life would be worried about me (Michelle and Vivian that means!!!) I WhatsApped them to let them know I was ok. Thanks Lolo Bar!!
One of the locals at Lolo Pass. If someone can tell me what it is? Think its a Chipmunk.
At Missoula Montana, got comfortable at a McDonalds and Skyped Michelle then Abbey to wish her a happy 20th birthday. Abbey was in a fancy hotel in the Lake District with Dan, a treat from her Mom, who was also there. I suppose she can afford that now Chet's place is sold.
From Missoula, Highway 12 turns into I90 and as the speed limit is 75mph, I soon covered 200 miles to Butte, then a further 100 miles to Bozeman.
Just outside of Butte, I crossed the Continental Divide at 6,368 ft. Amazing granite formations. Stopped at a rest area just after I crossed.
Be crossing back over the Continental Divide as I head back into Yellowstone Park.
Currently in Bozeman, which seems a nice and arty town, with a trendy main street with nice bars and restaurants. Have to remember that in the winter time this is a major ski area!
Stopped at the Ranch House Motel in Bozeman as I need a shower!! All my stuff is now dry after the ice disaster except for the three books which are still damp. One of them is really bad, but its only water and it will dry out!!
Tomorrow I am heading for Yellowstone. I am one day behind on my trip schedule and am thinking of modifying my journey slightly.
