Continued through Walla Walla, Washington and into Idaho at Clarkston & Lewiston. Seem to be still following Lewis and Clark's trail, but in reverse!!
Beyond Lewiston Highway 12 becomes very twisty and mountainous as it follows the Clearwater river.
I stopped at a campsite as I was leaving Orofino, (which I almost missed it was so small). Only cost $10 and camped on the bank of the river.
My big surprise as I unpacked my tent was leaking water in the boot of the car!! The ice I bought and put in the cool bag I dragged from the UK leaked all over the boot floor and got my back pack soaking wet!! I had three new books in the back pack and they were in a real damp state. Plus all my documents and passports were wet. Had everything laid out inside the car to dry out. Was a bit worried that all this stuff was on display, but my camp site was really quiet.
Some pix of the Clearwater river at various spots I stopped at before I camped for the night
View from my tent, not bad!! Very quiet and no phone or radio reception
