Andrew dropped us at the Glenmont Metro station and we managed to get free tickets to Union Station!!
The last time I was here was 28 years ago!! The only thing that has changed is there are a few more museums!!!
Walked to the White house and passed the Capitol building. On the way watched horse drinking out of fountain.
Took photos outside White house, but could not tour it, but there was a visitor centre playing a movie about the architecture etc. Washington Monument also closed for refurbishment. Pity.
The security situation is evidence everywhere, with concrete barriers and Police cars with "US Secret Service" plastered all over them!!
Went around Air & Space museum with a guide. Really interesting even after 28 years!!
Had lunch at the National Museum of the American Indian. then toured the exhibitions.
Got back to Union station and looked at shops, and bought something for Michelle at Victoria's Secret!!
Wonderful milkshakes from Ben & Jerry's and back on metro, which we paid for this time!! We also helped a Chinese tourist figure out the ticket machines on the Metro too.

Note trimmed beard!! I also had to buy a hat as I forgot my sunglasses!! Yes I look stoopid!!
